Problems with Siemens BIT-II phone...
Hi,
This is my first post so please be kind...! Last week I was daft enough to lend my wife my car while hers was being serviced. Unfortunately she thought it would be a good idea to transport a large bucket of seawater in the boot without a lid on it. As you can imagine, the inevitable happened... The rear left audio/nav/telephone compartment took most of the damage and the amp and telephone module were both submerged.
Amazingly the amp started working again after it dried out but the telephone is definitely dead. So, I bought a module off eBay thinking it would be a simple swap...nope! It won't pair to the handset and no amount of turning on and off the ignition and playing with the console switch for 15/8/2 seconds has helped.
I wonder if the wiring connector (P/N 6 921 883) is damaged as it is quite clogged and full of rusty bits. However, I haven't managed to find a replacement for love nor money. I was hoping you guys might be able to help me track one down...and if anyone can help with pairing the handset to the base I'd be extremely grateful...!
Many thanks,
Gordon.
