Dead battery - charged, now prompting for code and wont start

05 X5 is prompting me for a code and won't start, can anyone help me figure out how to get this 4 digit code? Do I need to bring it to a dealer?

Im almost giving up hope on my car. I just replaced my cracked coolant reservoir after waiting for the tank for a week. once I got done, i followed the instructions from here to turn to 'on' but not start car, heater at 90.

However, this killed the battery. So I bought a battery tender, since i kept reading how risky it is to jump the car. Now battery if fully charged BUT IT WONT RECOGNIZE THE KEY/WONT START AND IS PROMPTING ME TO ENTER A CODE!

Can someone tell me how I find this four digit code? Do I have to bring it to a dealer, cuz that would really demolish my soul. Just two days before my tank cracked, I had to bring it in for busted oil sensor and vacuum pump. Its just one after another right now, hard for me not to freak out.

That's so weird, that's a code that you can put in to protect your car from being stolen. Usually used before you shut off the car. I've never seen that come up after replacing the battery. Try a simple 0000. Otherwise I really am scratching my head at this one.

Maybe someone else would know
