Need help with Cabin Heat

On my '05 E53 N62, at idle with normal operating temp, I'll have the heat all the way up:
- If I set the fan speed to max, I get cool-ish air
- If I set it somewhere between half and three-quarters, I get very hot air.
I have a new thermostat, aux. water pump works. I don't know what needs to be changed to get normal heat at top speed. Anyone, please?

With all the different ways the air can be tempered and changed...could you provide a bit more detail?

Like, how do you have the IHKA panel set? What TEMP (F° or C°) do you have the system set to? Are you using AUTO air distribution and AUTO fan speed? Or are you selecting one or more of the 3 air direction buttons (defrost/dash/floor) as well as using manual fan speed manipulation? What happens if you use the RAPID DEFROST/DE-ICE button (since it has a pre-programmed setting of high heat & high fan speed)? What happens if you use AUTO air direction & AUTO fan speed modes...do you still get cool air?

{there are so many ways to set the IHKA...it would be helpful to know how you have it set...is it in AUTO mode or are you manipulating the air direction and air speed yourself?}

Where is the air that you're "checking" blowing from? Is it the dash vent? If yes, then how do you have the stratified air dial set? The stratified air dial is the one in the middle of the center dash vent which allows you to temper the air cooler/warmer. If you have that dial turned into the blue area...then the air from the dash vents will always be cooler than air coming from the defrost or floor vents.

Also check the vent at the rear of the center console. The rear passengers may have turned the stratified air dial for that vent to the blue area as well...thus they will be receiving cooler air.

Hi,
I'll do a few tests but so far I was using manual fan settings (not Auto mode), both sides set to 32 (max setting), center dials set to red dots and it didn't seem to matter whether it was set to Hi-speed defrost, regular defrost, face vents, feet or a blend thereof. When I have the fan set to half or a bit higher, I get hot air. When I set the fan to maximum or close to it, I get cool air.
Thanks for any help that you can provide.

Sounds like the Heater control valve :

Repairing valve doesn't always work, might be easier to just replace it:
