Transmission moving after Parked
Hey yall-
I did a quick and un-thorough search and didn't find anything...
My CFO has a '06 E53 X5 3.0i that is under CPO for another 6 months. She has been complaining for a while that since she had had a gasket on the transmission changed due to a leak, the car has been rolling significantly farther after putting it in park than before. I told her it was normal...
Then last week, she got the car back from the dealership, where they managed to find $1500 between her and an inspection, and now the wipers are acting up, which is putting my paranoia gears into motion. Do you know of any reason the car would roll more after the transmission was worked on? The dealer can't have possibly cannibalized parts from her car, could they? The dealer is great to me, they know I know my sh*t and know not to wash, scratch or in any way mess with my car (nor let anyone but the foreman touch it) but taking the car to our indy to verify their "reasons" not to give the car an inspection proved that they are not so with my mother. Is the transmission about to go? Car has 65,000 miles on it, and my mom who is a highway featherfoot.
It grinds my gears that they would try to take advantage of her, and I live 1,000 miles away from her. I want some advice from someone who may have noticed that before I deal with them. The dealer "up there" still has my phone number and e-mail registered to the X, so I'll be the one giving them crap scores on the survey and "requesting contact."
TIA.
