Headlights are hazy

Hey guys,
My 2001 4.4i headlights have started to become quite hazy and foggy. I know that there are several restoring kits you can purchase, but before i go out and buy one i just wanted to get some input from you.

Have any of you used a restoration kit that you found works well? If so which one?

I know that you can also sand the headlights with 2000grit sandpaper, so there is that option also.

Let me know if you guys have done this before and which option worked best for you.

Did the 3M kit do much for the little nicks and chips from rocks and other debris? My headlights are failry clear but kind of pitted from rocks and such.

It took out almost all of them. The lenses are very smooth. Each lense has a deeper spot or two that did not come out. I possibly could have sanded them further, but i wanted to keep a couple disks to go over my wifes Saab. Hope this helps Chris.

BTW they had the kits quite cheap on amazon.

LOL, Thanks for the reply Chris!

The mats are great, I actually shampooed the carpet really well this weekend and got rid of some of the salt stains. Now the carpet look brand new and match the mats

I'll try the 3M kit, I'm really trying to spruce up the X for the summer!

Time for new head lights, check out ebay or do a search here. We have lots of options.
