Somebody throw me a bone... how to reset mpg

Ok... I looked through the manual and I must be illiterate (I totally spelled that wrong) because I cannot figure out how to reset the mpg or any other setting on the computer. Somebody give me a hint and I promise I'll punch myself in the ear afterwards.

Here's what I've tried:

If I scroll to it using the button on the end of the stalk, then press and hold that button it doesn't do anything. If I press the trip reset type button on the right side of the gauge cluster it says "prog" but doesn't do anything. If I press the trip type button on the left side of the gauge cluster nothing happens except my trip odometer resets.
I've also tried a couple buttons on the radio display with no luck.

Funny how such a small thing is driving me nuts.

Well the wife came home and I finally figured it out.

Get the mpg on the dash screen, hold the BC button stalk down for a few seconds until PROG is on the screen, then press the set button on the radio dealie for a few seconds.

What a PITA.

On a good note though, I got rid of all the other things on the display that I don't use... MPG2, time, date, stopwatch, 8 track tape, etc...
