Rear wiper problem

So the other day I was driving in some nasty April 23rd SNOW and needed to use my rear wiper. Turned it on and it worked as it should. After driving for a few min. I noticed it wasnt wiping. I shut it off and turned it on again and it worked. After a few min. it stopped again. I noticed later on that even when in rev. it wouldnt wipe at all when on. A day later and it almost never works anymore. I did a search and didnt come up with much. There was someone that had a similar problem but there was no update to show a solution(drives me nuts). Anyone else have this issue? I doubt its a motor, it works intermittently. Is there a circuit board somewhere that shorts out? Fuses and relays seem fine.

have had this problem before -- faulty ignition switch was found to be the culprit

any other odd electrical issues? ie radio turning off randomly, horn not working, airbag and/or seatbelt light on, steering wheel buttons not working...

Hey this happens to me every now and then. As of now, I am also clear of odd electrical issues.

Just had my ignition switch replaced. Didn't have electrical gremlins like that. My car didn't like to start though lol.

I wonder if his motor just went on the wiper. Or something got stripped? Could be that simple

I have always had odd ele. gremlins. Had the X for over a year now and I have had surging lights at night, fluctuating voltage (read through cluster), and the hvac buttons dont always work. I doubt these issues are related to the wiper though. Radio always works fine. I thought it would be odd for it to be as simple as a motor, with the intermittent nature of it working and not.

+1 Check the visor mirror lights for correct function as well. All tell tale signs of an ignition switch wetting the bed.

I looked but didnt find anything. Know where I might find it? I used "rear wiper" as key words.

And whats this I see in your sig about e90 sport seats? Is that an easy swap? I hate my seats. Probably couldnt find the truffle brown 3 seats anyway.

oh, and my vanity light works fine, with the key in pos 2 or run, not with the key off and out.

Mine was doing that the other day. Ended up being the bolt wasn't completely tight. There was enough tension to keep the wiper horizontal, but when it was turned on, the wiper stayed in place but the shaft spun. Just my .02$
