Can I turn on the headlights with the remote?

I know this is a stretch, but here goes:

The gym I train at is in a warehouse and it's absolutely pitch black when I get out at night. I was wondering if there is a way to make the lights turn on with the remote to light up my walk a bit.

Thanks.

There is a setting the dealer can do where the head lights will stay on for a period of time and auto shut off to do exactly what you want. But you cant really control it like the way you mentioned. just no a auto on/off timer

There are aftermarket solutions. The one I have heard most about is eLight. Not sure where to buy it, but here is the link:

Here: eas - 714.369.8524 | car-solution - eLight standard for e46 3-series, e83 X3 & e85 Z4 you could buy it in the US. Not sure why X5 E53 is not listed but I have it in and it definitely does what you request. The function is called Wayfinder and you can choose which lamps should guide you and how long 10 sec - 90 secs is chooseable.

You can download the software for configuration for free. There you have a section (in Help) on how to mount it and you can have a look what it does.

Software is here: http://www.car-solution.de/dl/Setup_...0R53_V2.06.exe

Good luck

Me? Yes - of course - works well. It also has a light sensor so it does this only when it's dark.

Helmuth - would it be possible to program this to use the corona rings and fogs as DRL and switch off amber parking on front? (I know in europe they are off by definition)
