Front of car sits really high after Height Recalibration

Hi,

I just replaced my front right air spring with a Arnott unit and had a independent dealer recalibrate the height and now both the driver and passenger side front of the car sits really high and isn't leveled with the rear. Also the side with the new strut is also about half an inch higher than the driver side. The shop probably spent 3 hrs trying to level it out but couldn't.

Has anyone ran into this problem?

There are no leaks on any of the bags so those are good.

I'm just getting a little frustrated with the suspension on this car, i've already spent $700 and it still isn't right!

Any help is appreciated. Thanks

Any suggestions?

I'm taking it to a BMW dealer this weekend to have it looked at they are charging me $250 to have the height recalibrated. Does the price sound about right? Hopefully they can get it right!

I had a similar problem after the Eibach sways. I got the 'air level suspension inactive' error and took it back to the shop. Turns out that they had caused it during the install- they theorized by turning on the key while it was in the air. True or not, they took responsibility and recalibrated it. It took about 10 mins once he figured out the process.

It did require a GT1 to do it. But since those are nearly a dime a dozen now with all the Virtual Machine and INPA installations on notebook PC's, getting their function is not nearly as cost prohibitive as they once were.

I would pass some of the cost to get it recalibrated to the original indy or find an indy with a GT1 machine. Unless the hourly rate is close to it, $250 is high. They're effectively punishing you for using an indy for the air shock repair.

Yeah i called 3 bmw dealerships and all quoted me $250 ish. The first indy shop i took it too i believe they didn't do the right measurements and weren't using the GT1 program.

I'm just affraid if i take it to another indy that they wont be able to get it right and I would have to bring it to the dealer anyway.

After this experience I'm motivated to gather all the info/software to build a GT1 laptop!
