how rare is your X5?

i was curious about how rare my 2002 4.6 is. Is there anyway to find out how many of a certain color exterior/interior was made? I called BMW office in NJ and they said there wasnt anyway of finding out that info (i think the guy was just being lazy or didn't know where to look)

I have a silver 2002 4.6is with red leather. Ive never seen another with that combo. Can anyone help me out a little (if its possible)

thanks
Travis

i'd be curious to know if this info was readily available too. I too, think our 2003 4.6is might also be relatively rare as during our search we didn't see another one in the color combo: sapphire blk with black leather/checkered alcantera seats and silver trim, i could be wrong though.

BMW doesn't like to release production #'s anymore IIRC.

I think the most documented car is the 03' 540i while the most specific is the 03 Msport 6SP Gray 540i. (1XX made)

One thing i know for sure is that the 4.6is sale numbers are low.

Such things like:

# produced
Of #, X are painted Y.
Are kept deep in BMW HQ

I don't believe mine is all that rare. It's just your average run of the mill X5 for the model year. However given the difficulty I had finding the color combo (Silver, gray, light wood trim) one would get think otherwise.

As for a Silver 4.6is with red interior and silver trim I've seen it for sale a few times. Of course this is to say nothing about the rarity.
