Done!
Install is done; it sounds great!
I'll try and take some pictures that do it justice, and maybe a quick video. As to the exhaust tip issue. On close inspection it looks like they're dual-wall and taper down to single wall; if that makes sense? In other words, when you look into the tip you can clearly see it's much thicker internally and has a metal mesh appearance. Kinda like this:

For $2400. that exhaust better do more than make sound for you.
You can go to a reputable exhaust shop (in NJ MaxPSI) and they can fab one up for less than a 1,000. Then it will be custom and one of a kind. None of that mandrel bent crap from meineke. Don't get me wrong the piece is very nice but the price is just ridiculous. Like the e46 m3. A muffler, a MUFFLER is 1700. then you still have headers, section 1, section2. A full SS from headers back can cost you $6000 I have ebay headers (SS Rep with 35k hard miles) and a bimmerworld exhaust from section 1 back and it was $1150 for everything. It is just metal and I don't understand how people just burn money away with this stuff

It does more than make sound...
When you start paying my bills you can worry about how I spend my money...

I don't care how you spend your money, I just find it funny people buy these mufflers for sound and think they are adding HP. What more does it do besides make sound? I'd like to know, maybe a nice baseline dyno and post dyno after the adaptations are set with similiar conditions then I can shut up (real world of course, not distributor posted #s). But hey to each their own.

M3 Eisenmann Dyno
Here's an M3 Eisenmann Dyno... Can't find one for an X5...
The numbers achieved were very impressive indeed: the M3, equipped with the factory exhaust system, achieved 351 wheel horsepower, a very realistic number when considering the car's 400 crank horsepower rating, and the repeated runs that corroborated this number. This M3, when tested with the Eisenmann system only an hour and a half later, produced 364hp at peak- a 13hp gain! Even more interestingly, 100rpm earlier, at 7900 RPM, the Eisenmann system produced 363hp, while the factory system only allowed the car to produce 348hp- a 15hp gain!

That's great but I don't see an X5. You are comparing apples to oranges. Every car is different. I'd like to see real world numbers from an X5. Cause I can show you dyno graphs of an E46 showing 359 whp with an exhaust and tune but that means absolutely nothing in regards to an X5 muffler.

I have some personal experience from friends, myself and the m3forum on exhaust (muffler, section 3) upgrades and dyno time. But also tons and tons of information from reading on m3forum the last 4 years. here are some good threads with real world data, before and after. These threads made me a believer to these products: Dyno: EPIC tune vs. Stock tune - BMW M3 Forum.com (E30 M3 | E36 M3 | E46 M3 | E92 M3) Bimmerworld/Epic Race Tune review - BMW M3 Forum.com (E30 M3 | E36 M3 | E46 M3 | E92 M3) Bimmerworld 3.5" race exhaust - BMW M3 Forum.com (E30 M3 | E36 M3 | E46 M3 | E92 M3) During this event, my friend preeth made similiar numbers to how his car is now (stock) muffler, when he had this dyno his car had full exhaust (rogue engineering) so the muffler itself did nothing but sound. The bimmerworld race exhaust on the other hand claims 10-15 hp. but people have been getting 20-25 and even more. Dyno Meet Weekend of Jan 25-27, 2008 - Page 5 - BMW M3 Forum.com (E30 M3 | E36 M3 | E46 M3 | E92 M3) So with real numbers like these, then I can say the exhaust did something extra besides sound. ![]() ALSO make sure you are buying eisenman, not eisen haus. The imitation chinese brand that no one can even tell anymore, not even vendors!
