woo hoo

ive had my 2005 3.0d X5 now for a little over a year, ive done 40,000 km in that time and am still totally satisfied with this car, ive just filled the fuel tank
(Diesel) and my average economy for the tank was 9.11 litres per 100 km

my best ever was 9.0 and usually around 9.4 (calculated , and not from the on board computer, it lies, says 8.1)

other than replacing the foam padding in the base of the front seats, the only warranty claim was for a steering rack that the dealer reckoned had some slight play in it, previous to me the vehicle only had scheduled servicing

this truck rocks

I like my X5 more than my Xwife my X5 is low maintenance, is more reliable, if I get tired of its appearance I can update it, and there are more dots connected in its central brain, cheaper to fuel up too.

Good on ya BW!! I know this truck gets alot of bad press from owners, yes sometimes its justified, but overall this truck does as you say.. it 'rocks'!!

I sold my awwwwwwwwesome e46 m3 to buy this (for life in oz-which is soon! ), and was absolutely gutted to see the M go. But this is the longest time I've owned a car (3 years now) by far!! We've had our ups and downs with things having to be fixed along the way-some surprising, some expected.

However, this motor does everything I want it to. I point and squirt, the V8 roars and I'm at 60 in a few seconds, storming onto 150 if I wanted! Tootling around town doing the shopping, or carrying a friends washing machine to her new house! Not only that, it corners!! Great fun when you have a passenger that doesn't know the capabilities of this 2 ton truck and its M-Tec suspension and you throw it round a bend. Watching them grab the handrail above their head because they think its going to roll cracks me up!! haha.

Fully auto, sport mode, or manual. What choice would you like today sir?!!

hey BW, I should be over by the end of Aug. I got my PR visa last month, just have to sell the house, then book that one-way ticket! total cost to bring the X over should be about £4000 (approx. AUD$6000). Thats with shipping, insurance, port fees, GST, paperwork, compliance test etc etc...

Man, am I looking forward to it!!

your going to WA aren't you, better get your A/C serviced heheh and better get used to cheaper fuel, i don't know what prices are in WA but here in QLD i pay between $1.45 to $1.49 a litre for diesel, and i think hi octane petrol is about the same per litre

so probably a fair bit cheaper than you pay in UK

registration is around $1000 per year for a V8 around $800 for a 6 cylinder

and i pay around $1000 for insurance.

get your self ready for some serious heat , probably dont bother bringing all those big thick jackets, just going to be taking up space hehehe

best of luck with the move, and keep us posted

haha, nice one BW! we pay £1.41/litre here, diesel is about 3p/litre more. Yes, going to WA, and yes already know about the heat, I'm only bringing t-shirts shorts and flip-flops, sorry I mean 'thongs'!!

As for aircon, I have to get it de-gassed before shipment/arrival. Aus laws and that...

Thanks for the headsup on the 'rego' and insurance costs. I've already got my reg plate sorted for when I get there!
