Need a new ABS module coded to my '06 4.8is...how is this done?

My Indy stated they couldn't do it. So the $1200+ BMW units come coded but the $511 new Bosch units dont?

Can anyone elaborate on this please?

Mark

Ricky Bobby will become famous soon enough
All new ABS modules should be coded to your car/VIN, as its a new module.

The indy shop probably does not have GT1/DIS and/or coding capabilities (Autologic?) to code the module to your car.

I was suprised to find that some of the indys near me don't have the GT1. Called a few of them, and found one that did.

In fact, I guarantee said Indy uses another Indy to do their coding. Find out where they outsource that piece.

If memory recalls, the OEM module is around $850ish-$9 and then there was the programming at a hr.

There was a Bosch that was cheaper, but they still need to get programmed regardless.

I just ordered a new one for $520 from PelicanParts.com, verified the VIN for it as well. My Indy CAN program it, I had misinterpreted what he said I guess. :/
