parking light delete mod?

So I have a facelifted X5 that comes with the angel eyes. The way the angel eyes work (for those of you w/o the facelifted models), they turn on whenever your parking lights are on. However, I'd prefer to have the effect of driving with JUST the angel eyes on without having the two corner lights on with them. Does anybody know how I can disable the two front corners from turning on unless I want to use my turn signal??

LOL "bump"? This is not a buy and sell forum!

At the dealer, you can disable such things, along with DLRs.

You might want to try contacting Parag @ advancedautovations.com (email [email protected]) and ask him if his iLights module (it still may be in prototype) can accomplish what you are looking to do.

If police departments ever start using X5s for cruisers, Parag will become rich selling them iLights modules.

Bavarian -

This actually isn't something you can tell the dealer to turn off in the US. It is required by law to have amber lights/reflectors illuminated on your vehicle with your headlights.

I know that Euro vehicles can turn it off through the dealer, and I guess Canadian drivers can as well.

Do you guys have any more details on iLights? before i send an e-mail, what is it??

not in the US.....im 99% sure dealers can't/shouldn't do this, it's pretty much illegal.

I use "bump" on threads that aren't for buying and selling, so do continue

anybody know what iLights is about??

Here's a video that give you an idea of how much control you can have over certain vehicle functions, if you have the know-how

iLights

I just took apart a couple of 04 headlights. They are much more difficult to take apart than the older assemblies. They are also much more complicated on the inside with lots of wiring and motors for the adaptive lights. To acomplish what you are trying to do, you have to re-wire the angel eyes inside of the headlight assembly and create a separate contact to switch on just the angel eyes when you want them on. Check with Umnitza or customangeleyes.com. I'm sure they can help you.
