How do i get rid of this?? PIC
I’ve recently noticed that along the black trim on my doors around my windows, that I’ve been getting a kind of hazy look. The black is starting to show little spots and it’s really starting to annoy me. I’m sorry I couldn’t really explain it better cause I don’t know the name of the actually piece so that’s why I included a pic.
Let me know the best way to get rid of that annoying discoloration…… Has anyone else experienced this? |

Repaint. You could try cut and buff but that type of discoloration tends to come back after some time. A few guys on here bought carbon fiber covers or something like that.
I'm thinking of having mine covered with vinyl CF wrap. Relatively inexpensive and not permanent (for resale reasons). |

May be black shoe polish will work (the liquid one with a sponge on the bottle). I know it works well for plastic trims like bumpers, wheel arches etc. I've used it for my E46 and ex-E30. Try a small section first.

I've got back to black from mothers that i use for plastic trim and it works pretty well, but i'd be a little afraid of using it on here.....

Those are temporary fixes. You'll have far better success with a cut and buff using a wool pad, buffer, and a couple different buffing compounds.

Is it the shadowline trim that is discolored or the painted body panel?

Noo. This is easy. No repainting. Just meguiars ultra cut compound then wax. Comes right out. I had the same problem..

Farecla G6. Works a treat, takes about 3 minutes per trim.
