i'm still having the issues. took it back the mechanic and they cant figure it out. the light comes and goes. it will be there a few days, then gone. then it comes back. anyone see this before?

Yes. Usually a bad connection in the junction of the sensor wire with the vehicle wiring (most likely cause), or a faulty sensor.
