PLEASE HELP ME DEALER CANT FIX NY X

hi everyone...i need major help...my x has been at the dealer since june 2 and they cant fix it..had the tranny replaced about 2 months ago and sinc i got it back after a few days the service engine soon light periodicaly illuminated the car starts to run rough , shakes and loses power.. if i turn it off and restart light turns off and car runs ok...it has happened 7 times within past month..dealer has replaced the maf, coil and spark plug to number 4 piston, cam shaft position sensor, and are currently replacing more coils..but car is still throwing codes..dealer told me yesterday that they dont know why and they cant fix it...i have been telling them that it has something to do the the tranny replacement..maybe the tech damaged something in the harness or wiring when he repalced tranny,,dealer initially said no way but now since they cant fix it they feel it is what i said...i told them to do a r and r of the tranny to see but they wont because they are not the dealership that replaced the tranny and to do the r and r the dealer that repalced it has to eat the cost because it is their mistake..bmwna really hasnt helped me to this point even though the dealer where car is now has informed them of problem..please can anyone help me your opinions and advise would be greatly appreciated...2005 x5 with 31k miles 4.4..thanks rob..ps the car is throwing all different codes that is what my service advisor is telling me..they change one part and it throws another code...sorry for long post..pss this problem only arose after tranny was replaced never had this problem prior.

Why didn't you bring it back to the dealer who did the tranny? If you bought me a car some other dealer worked on, I would be hesitant to work on it as well. Unless you have a warranty on the tranny no one is going to work on it for free. I'm hoping a BMW dealer did it. If so, they should be the people looking at it.

Well, Cold start problems usually point to bad MAF, Spark plugs or coils! coils more likely. scince you've replaced those, there are those kinds of problems on a facelift X5s. Search for intermidiate levers.

Although coincidences happen it would seem there is some link between the AT work and this problem. To take the AT out they would have taken down the exhaust and I would start looking there. The other issue is, they may have taken the top two bolts out from the top and disturbed something at the back iof the intake manifold.

Why not take it back to the guys who did the AT work?

Check the 02 sensors, if they took the exhaust down they could have got the b4 n after 02 sensors mixed up,
