How to Clear "Service Engine Soon" light

Does anyone know how to clear the "Service Engine Soon" light ??? planning to trade the X5 soon and want to clear this up...... Thanks for any inputs

The best way is to fix the problem causing it to be set. If you don't want to do that most OBD-II code readers contain the ability to clear the light. However doing so is likely to be temporary if the underlying problem is not corrected.
