Which FSR to buy?...

I'm getting a quiet squealing from my fan when I press MAX. I'm aware that it's probably my fan motor dying a slow and painful death, but I'd rather at least try the cheap and quick FSR fix. A quick search of eBay yields the following:

http://shop.ebay.com/i.html?_nkw=x5+....c0.m270.l1313

Does anyone have recommendations/warning about which FSRs to buy? Should I spend $90 on an OEM BMW one, or just any cheapo on eBay?

Thanks in advance,

-Cyrus

Weasel will become famous soon enough
The FSR ONLY affects fan output speed, it is what tells the fan how fast to spin. It will not cause any noises.

I got an E-bay FSR (non-OEM), it only lasted 6 mos. Had to replace with the Valero (OEM). Been good so far. Go OEM.

I may have run into this too (if so, my eBay one only lasted a year and a half). Maybe my 7 3/4 year old battery wasn't dead yet! I'll find out next week when I replace the FSR.

An update: Changed the FSR today and it appears to have fixed the problem. So the inexpensive ones on eBay may be poor quality (or maybe it's a problem with the HVAC system that burns them out).
