DEPO headlight install before and after pictures

I decided that my 2003 x5 needed a facelift so after countless hours researching about the DEPO headlight replacement, i decided to order a set from ebay. I got the set from seller redcomet and i was extremely satisfied with the transaction. He answered my questions quickly and delivered (International Australia) quickly. I got the lights in about 1 week.

Anyways, so ive installed the headlights and hooked the angel eyes/halo to my parklight. So first click turns on just the halos and second click turns on the low beam with the halos. Sadly im still unsure how to run the wire through the firewall and hook it up to the footwell lights. Can anyone shed some light please?

So if anyone with RHD drive X5 wants these then get it! it is really easy to install and automatically makes the car look 5 years younger.

So here are the pictures...

Before ...

After....

How much did they end up costing (including delivery) and have you got a link to RedComet's details on Ebay, as I can't seem to find them.

This is the ebay link to the lights: 00-03 BMW E53 X5 UHP 240-LED ANGEL EYES HALO HEADLIGHTS | eBay

I paid $570 for the set and $225 for shipping. I know some of the members here got it for alot cheaper but that was a year or two ago. I also got two H7 bulbs and two stealth chrome amber indicator bulbs.

Hope that helps

I'm planning on doing the same to my 2002 4.6is sometime this summer, funny I was just looking at these again last night...lol! Another Ebay seller is Fishcake, he and Redcomet seem to be the only two sellers on Ebay.

they really do update the look of the truck - good comparison of old & new seeing them side by side.

been hesitant to do this update for two reasons:
- I like the alignment of my OEM HID's. I'm not sure if they're aimed a bit high, but they do an awesome job of throwing light high but without offending oncoming traffic. How does the auto-leveling work on the DEPO's? Similar to OEM?
- I'm sure that after pulling the trigger and ordering, something will start leaking or creaking or burning and will require a thousand dollar visit to the stealer. Such would be my luck.

Also, how bright are the halos? They look super bright - even more so than the LCI halos on the new 3's and 5's. Anyone who has seen both - what are your thoughts?

Im not too sure how the auto-leveling work but it does the same with the DEPO. when i turn the lights on the light beam moves up, similar to what OEM use to do.
The angel eyes/halos are extremely bright! im worried that i might get booked because they are so bright!

A question for others who have installed these: On the ballast there is a grey wire that goes into the low beam housing and connects to the casing. what is this wire? there was a connection point on the DEPOs so i left it out but now im a bit worried. Any ideas will be appreciated.

OT: aside from HID and halogens, are all 00-03 headlamps the same? Thought the '03 had clear projectors...
