can any body tell me how the tv works in the X5.I bought a X5 and i want to replace the monitor.I have order one,but is the TV function built into the monitor or is the tuner elsewhere in the car?And does the monitor have to be TV compatiable or is it just one monitor for all ?

The TV tuner is in the boot just in front of the battery. There are 3 TV tuners 4:3, 16:9 analogue and 16:9 digital, as you are changing to a 16:9 screen either of the 16:9 Tv tuners will work, look on ebay. The analogue one's only pick up analogue stations, so are now limited to a couple of counties at the moment and these are being turned off slowly but surely. The digital one's pick up both analogue and digital so will still pick up all the TV channels only problem is if you are on the move you will lose the stations look on here
xdrivers.co.uk • BMW X owners forum and discussion lots of talk of how rubbish they are, but if you still want the digital one have a look on the German ebay as they are cheaper. I have the analogue TV which was fitted from new, when the analogue was switched off I added a DVD player and now just watch that. Phil |
