fue leak

i have a fuel leak on my 2003 3.0i sport e53 X5,there is a pipe missing from from the right hand side fuel tank, i think the pipe that is missing goes to the independent heating can anybody tell me if that is right and if so where is the independent heater so i can trace back the pipe and reconnect it.
The pipe that is missing is the one marked 2 in the image i have provided, and when i am driving about petrol is sloshing about and i end up with fuel sitting in the recess where the electric connector is.

See this link that I provided in your other thread on this subject. The parts list shows that there are two different delivery units on the right side, one with auxiliary heating and one for vehicles not equipped with auxiliary heating.

RealOEM.com * BMW E53 X5 3.0i Fuel pump and fuel level sensor

One of the difficulties will be that this auxiliary heating was not offered in North America, and most posters here will likely not be familiar with specifics of the Euro fuel delivery unit.

Good luck in your search. Perhaps a UK member may be able to help.
