X5 IBUS(?) USA Spec iPod Problem- With Necessary Details!
I disconnected the battery and hooked everything up, then reconnected the battery before I ran the wires to test it. It worked! Everything was normal, no extra lights, display was working, etc. Fast Forward: I ran the wires down the driver side and removed the rear bolster in the process, then tucked all the wires under the driver seat. I had to take out the under-dash (driver side) panel to run the wires for the AUX-input to his dash. Turned the car back on, everything works, no extra lights or codes, sound, NO radio display? The radio track/next track, volume, power, etc. buttons are all unresponsive. You CAN control the radio through the steering wheel and it will change mode when you insert a CD. Disconnected the battery for an hour, the display still doesn't work. I tried unhooking the USA-Spec iPod and resetting the battery, and re-hooking it and resetting, and it did not work. Sorry for the long message! Help? I thought disconnecting the battery first was supposed to avoid this IBUS mess.

Sure you didn't cut a wire from the I-Bus? When I installed an I-Bus device I did on error and everything was messed up.
What if you return your installation to original? Would that be possible for you on a temporary basis? Good luck. |
