Both of my X5 and M3 stay on after I turn off the ignition. As soon as I open the door, radio turns off. Same for the windows. Maybe this feature can be changed in the coding but I prefer it.

TIP:
  • KL R = ignition position 1
  • KL 15 = ignition position 2
  • KL 30 = ignition position key returns to after starting
  • KL 50 = starting position

q7silver thanks, chart a bit over my head though, but I did decipher that my radio that has the in dash business cd also is on 'your' list and is supposed to stay on despite ignition being off....then turns off after 16mins correct

My '01 'biz CD' radio turns off after ~15 mins, or sooner if I open the door...

Yes...that is correct...your CD53 NG radio can operate up to 16 minutes after the ignition has been turned off...which is also the time interval for the SLEEP mode to activate if no calls have been made on the P-bus (door switches, central locking system, windows, etc).

Thanks Q7sliver, well this is nuts, today I had the bizradio on, stopped car, turned ignition off and radio switched off whereas a couple of days ago I am sure it stayed on even though I had ' turned off car '...anyway thanks for input
