Rear Door Central Locking Busted
So off I go , stripping down the door card to take a look inside and see what I can see. Not sure what's wrong but I guess I'll work it out. I always hate removing door cards because it's so easy to damage the clips when removing them, and getting the card back on can be a nitemare.

From the sound of it you will need to replace the door latch. The central locking actuator is built in to it. Also, make sure the foam barrier is fully intact and properly stuck, especially the bottom half... If it isn't water can get on the rear floorboard, which is never fun!

I haven't gotten round to this yet but I'm just about to order the door lock actuator. Before I do .....
That door will not open or lock with the lock button on the centre console. It doesn't lock when you hit 5mph and all the other three do. I does not unlock with the remote fob. BUT - it will lock with the remote fob. ![]() I'm guessing a new actuator is the thing to do, but isn't it odd that the door locks with the key fob ? And one more thing. The actuator isn't a part that needs to be coded to the car, is it ?

Yes, it does sound like the actuator is the culprit. And no, it is not a coded part... just plug and play.

My rear n/s door is a bit flaky, probably only a 1-in-10 chance of it unlocking, but always locks again no problem.
How much is an actuator ? It's low on my priorities but I guess I may as well pick one up next time I'm buying parts. |

I'm seeing one for €133 online. My main reason for attending to it is because that door is used a lot because my young daughters child seat is at that side of the car. It's a pain in the ass having to hold her on one arm, open the front door, reach inside to open the back door.
