Radio dosen't switch off with ignition

Hi,

I have a X5 2003 and when I switch of the ignition the radio dosen't switch off. I have to switch it off manually. I have a MID radio. How can I fix so that it does switch off when I switch off the ignition.

Have you just acquired the car?
Check the wiring on the back and make sure it hasnt been connected to permanent +12v connection!Maybe the previous owner had an aftermarket radio installed and removed it before selling the car!Just a possibility

Hi,

Uptill yesterday, when I use to switch the ignition off the radio would switch off, but today when I switch off the ignition the radio stays on and I have to switch off by pressing the radio nob.

Just try to unplug the radio unit for a couple minut

The radio fuse was blown, when I replaced it all works now.

anyone here a radio expert? I want to order a new MID for my X.i found one on ebay but its for a 4.4i that was dsp equipped.my X isn't dsp equipped.is there a problem with the wiring harness going into that MID?
