re-program
as these cars are adaptive and as i usually drive with fuel economy in mind my car seems to adapt to this . when BMW serviced it it always came away performing much stronger. i know if i give it a good hard run it always seems to go better. so my question is, is there any way to clear the memory without disconnecting the battery or connecting it with a computer. long hard runs are not always practical sorry face lift 3.0d but i guess the process is the same across the fleet |

check out the last pages of the 'cool features' topic, would the PA software do the trick?
It seems like you could do a before and after examination of the settings and maybe learn something -- not sure, that may be more GT1 level stuff.

Adaptations to things like throttle pedals don't make any difference to how hard it runs, as they don't affect power. They simply affect how the pedal responds. I don't see the point of resetting the adaptations. If you want the throttle pedal to respond differently, ie more aggressively, just be more aggressive on the pedal. Yes, you will burn more fuel.
If it runs better because you got it good and hot and cleared it out, then resetting adaptations won't have any affect.
