My X5 is going into the Upholstery shop this week to have an extra 1/2 inch of foam added..I'll let you know how it works out.

I love the Sport seats..I'd just like a little more cushion.

Delay the car production...it's always 2-3 times more expensive to add something later on than it is to just have it built on when you buy the car. They always charge an arm and a leg for parts and then you still have to pay them to install

I talked to the dealer today. Apparently the car has already been produced and I can't order the seats. If I tell the dealer that I want to reorder - does it look bad since I never ordered seats in the initial order but them later on

Who the hell cares whether you look bad? The dealer is there to provide you with a product. You are the one spending 70k on a brand new car. Re-order and get what you want...

I say reorder if they are still willing to provide you with a price you are happy with.

Re-order by all means. They can sell your car to somebody else. Not your problem.

WOW! Anyone wanna buy a nice set of black Comfort Seats? I'm only wanting $8,000 for them ;-) Bargains like these don't come along every day, you know!

Actually, I had considered posting on Toadfly to see if anyone was interested in swapping their late-model Sport Seats for my 98% perfect black Comfort Seats, but now, knowing what I know, I'll just be comfortable with the knowledge I'm sitting on $5,000 instead of feeling sporty but oh-so-poor!

BTW, I'd reorder. Don't let the dealer make you feel obliged to take something you don't want. If you have the time, sit down and re-spec exactly what you want. In fact, add a couple more options to the list just to make everyone happy. For the $8,800 you saved by getting Comfort Seats installed at the plant, you could have some really neat BMW Individual stuff for your new X. It's a thought.
