Something wrong !

I put on the dashboard the live consumption and i was getting between 13 and 17 mpg for 16 min ( 2001 4.4) then i drove uphill for 2 min and i got 9 mpg . When i reached my destination i checked the < on board computer> ( from the main screen)and was surprised to see that my average mpg was 9!!! ( the computer didnt take in consideration the mpg i was getting before climbing the hill!!!??) nb: sport mode eats 2 .5 mpg for your info

Normal, imo...when that 'mpg' setting is re-set, it will show very current mpg in just those few short miles. You probably weren't even getting '9' up that hill.

Any car I have/had with a mpg readout is suspect, (usually optimistic), and of little value except over a whole tank, or several tanks full, for a cumulative estimated reading.

Those should improve it. I'd also check to see if you need an alignment

Why wring your hands...fill it up, drive a tank's worth, as you normally would, re-fill and do the arithmetic; if it's single digits and you are used to getting 12-17 on a tank, then do some digging.

I assume you have an idea of what mpg you get from tanks, normally?

Check your tire pressure. I run 31 in all four, got 21.9 according to the computer last trip home. Cruise on 65mph. Fresh transmission fluid. Fresh oil.

Yeah, seems about right if your driving like that. Mine get 22MPG avg bc I'm on flat pavement, I drive 50 miles on the parkway each day each way. the minute I take it into the city, i'm lucky if I can get 12MPG. My Audi A6 4.2 surprisingly does really well, better than my Acura TL. My TL got 18 to 23mpg, and that was a v6. My Audi gets 26-27 MPG on the highway and 18-19 in the city. Plus fuel makes a difference. If I fill with 91 oct, I get 23 hwy, if I fill with sunoco ultra 93, I get the full28-29 mpg. Hell, I took a trip up to the Great Sacendaga Lake in the Audi, Ran 93 Ultra up there and avg'd 30mpg, then on the way back, filled up with Sunoco ultra 94 up in NY and got 33mpg!!! In a V8!!! I was happy!!
