Using Philips D2S bulb 85126 (6000K) for HID Conversion.

My after market Chinese made HID bulbs burned out twice after ~ 100 hours during last 3 years. The digital ballasts made in Japan and they are excellent ballasts. This time I do not want to get after market HID bulbs anymore so I ordered a pair of OEM Philips D2S 85126 bulbs and D2S to HID conversion adapter. I made additional D2S to H7 socket clips for my Halo headlight. The installation was successful. I also replaced parking light bulbs, now everytime i turn signal, i am thinking "remove front bumper" this was a big job and took me more than 2 hours to replace signal/parking light bulbs!!!. Pictures show what i have done:

Tom no more dirty looks! lol. They are very impressive D2S bulbs and homemade clip for H7 - All are good. After finishing bulbs alignment, i took a road test at night and impressed by OEM bulbs lighting.

Thread revival time

My 01 doesn't have projector headlights, they're the very basic halogen headlights. I had a halogen bulb go out tonight, so I figured I'd try to see about going HID's again. I've done an HID conversion before in these headlights (I believe they were H7's) using adapters and either the adapters didn't fit right or the bulbs wouldn't sit in them correctly, so I could never get a good focused beam. Looking at the front of the car they looked fine, pulled up about 5ft from the garage to aim them looked fine as well, but on the road the light was terribly scattered.

Are you saying that you used adapters then stock D2S style bulbs and they worked out fine for focus, lighting on the road, everything? If so, that'd be great...I've got no desire to spend $300-$400 on aftermarket headlights when I'm happy w/ angel eyes and all...I just wish I had HID headlights. If I can use my stock headlights w/ the adapters I already have (wherever I put them) and just throw D2S's into them, I'd be set. Then again, the adapters I have are supposedly for H7's...I hope that wouldn't matter.
