Roof Baskets

Hi all,

Anyone running a roof basket either the Yakima or Rola variety?

Also any issues with it or pics of it installed?

I haven't seen an X5 with a roof basket. Thule used to make a very nice and slick looking silver aluminum basket as OEM for BMW and Audi. I haven't been able to find it lately.

The main things with roof baskets are wind noise and your gas mileage suffering.

Yeah I would expect that, for some reason I have a bit of wind noise already. I tend to think it might even be the wing mirrors.

You're right about gas mileage, it makes a difference on mine even with the cross bars installed!! And they are Pbars, some low profile things.
