i just finished answering your pm... for the rest of the bunch, this is the last update on the x5 s3... the other day i took out the x5 (when it was nice and cold at night) against the m3, we did a rolling start (40mph) and the m3 (SMG) was in S5 mode (1 short of S6 which turns off DSC)....the x5 basically sand blasted the m3 all the way to about 120mph, the m3's v6 is no match to the superchaged v8. HUGE!!! we also raced off the line, m3 still in S5 mode...the x5 surges ahead 1/4 length of a car ahead of the m3, but SMG picks up quick and by 100mph, the two cars are neck and neck dead even...not bad for being a huge SUV and to keep up with an m3 on S5 mode... my take is past 120 the m3's v6 again is gonna lose out to the x5. but the only way for the m3 to have its up on the x5 is to be in S6 mode and in launch control mode...other than that, the x5 is just phenomenal. this is again running on 91 octane, using 96 octane will surely improve the x5's performance...i mite do a few more runs w/ race fuel next time and tempt the X5 vs M3 (in S6 mode) cheers everyone

it's a promise ill do a video, ive been wanting to do a stock 4.6 vs my s3
and m3 vs x5, and maybe e39 m5 vs x5 video, its just been hard to have all interested parties together for a video...
