ClusterF*** my gauge cluster is toast, question...

So the pixels are bad, fixed them, now my speedo needle just fell off...

My question is... I found another cluster, but he said it has 224k on it! Yipes. Does the ECU keep the miles? Or does the cluster?

IIRC, it's in three places:

Cluster, ECU, and LCM.

You will get an orange tamper dot that you can have cleared and read the correct mileage stored in the other places with a GT1 or similar device.

My cluster was replaced thru bmwna but it cost me bout $80 to have installed and coded at classic BMW in plano tx. Took them bout an hour but that was including washing and vacuuming my car.
