Door instrument panel lighted but not working?...

So I washed the X today, and when I was done I noticed the lock actuator is no longer working. No big deal, it's been dying for the last 2 years. But now I notice I cannot adjust the mirrors or open/close the windows from that driver's door panel (the other window panels work). I'm not thinking the lock actuator is not quite dead but rather I have some sort of faulty connection from the door. The panel is lighted, but it's as if no signals are going out. Anyone know what this could be? I checked a few fuses but all were fine.

Thanks,
-Cyrus

The first place I would look is the electrical connector near the hinges of the door.

Okay I took the connector apart, lubricated the connectors with WD-40 (they didn't seem too corroded) and put them back together. Problem persists. Lights to the panel work, as does the radio, but the window switches and power door lock go nowhere. Anyone else?

Pry out the module and check the connections there. Start with the back side and work it slow and it will come out.

On another note, the airbag light is on now. Essentially there is no signal going out of the door.

By the module, are you referring to the connectors between the door and chassis? That is the one I lubricated, it seems like everything was fine there.

Thanks for all the help guys!

The actual switch in the drivers door is the module. If u unplugged the harness int the door jam while the ignition is on that might have given u the airbag fault.

You sir are my new favorite person on this forum. :-D It was indeed a loose connector on the window switch that was controlling power to the whole door. Now everything works.

Anyone know how to get this airbag light off? Will giving it time do the trick or do I need to leave the battery unplugged? Trip to the dealer?
Thanks,
-Cyrus
