Cheaper to buy a 4.4 or 4.6.

There was an old time member that turbo'd his e53, but it was the V8 auto, from memory...I dug around and found this pic I took of his car, but I can't find the under hood pic. Pic is from a fabulous World X5 Meet, held in Southern Cal, in Oct 2006. His handle was KirkX5, but I haven't seen him on this board for a long time.
It was a beautiful install...and, I seem to recall a couple other posters doing the turbo deal too, but I think they were all V8s.

I agree w/JCL: it would be expensive.

ESS has a supercharger kit available for the 3.0's. If you insist on a turbo, you're on your own to design the kit and do all the tuning.
