Are the 4.4i ('05 to be specific) prone to valve stem seal leaks,

or are these mainly on the 4.6 and 4.8's that are more powerful? How about the coolant plastic pipe?

I checked out an 05 4.4 and didn't notice any smoke at idle after running it hard. It only has 98K miles.

Thanks for any input.

Let it idle for 20 minutes and then hold the throttle wide open.
check for blue smoke from exhaust.
you don't usually see valvestem smoke when running engine hard
