Drill motor out of regulator to swap?

I bought a regulator minus motor on ebay and was wondering if I have to drill the motor out or just unscrew it. In other words is the motor riveted on like most other BMW motors or held on with nuts and bolts?

Also, who else has feedback on how these replacements hold up? They are only $29 new so I am skeptical, but that's cheap enough to at least try it. Besides.... how could it fail any more than the stock BMW regulator?

That was surprisingly easy to swap. Took about 28 minutes.
