peake code 89
Replaced aftermarket cam sensors and x5 drove good for 1 day. Now more codes, code 89 which isnt listed under table 19 that my reader is saying to use. But table 18 shows 89 as being jet stream pump. Also still getting 01 ign coil cyl #2 and EF misfire cyl #2. Coil for cyl 2 was replaced by bmw with a bmw oem. I am going to try swaping coils to see if problem moves.
A little research would suggest if it was the pump or one of its sensors, all cylinders would be affected. Could this be the high pressure line or injector failure for cylinder 2? 2001 x5 3.0 121k Symptoms are still after it warms up and a load is placed on engine, increase speed or moving up hill acts like it is running on 5 cyl. Pull over turn off then restart and everything is fine until a load is placed on it again. |

Well i just got thru swapping coil 2 with coil 4. Now the code comes back 02 - ignition coil 4 & F1 misfire cylinder 4. Must be the coil. This is the coil that moritz bmw replaced oem 2 weeks ago. Waiting for the service manager to call me.
