Question Head unit input

I think my head unit for my x5 is dying so looking to buy an aftermarket unit and have no idea what to get. I need some input on some units if anyone has any. Thank you

GOOGLE!

Interesting. There are many more components to your audio system than the head unit that you "think" is dying. Based on what info you have given, which is none, I would say to replace the oem unit with a decent aftermarket unit such as Alpine, Pioneer, Kenwood. There are kits available to adapt a single cd player to the dash opening, and all you should need (unless you have steering wheel controls) beyond that is a harness that feeds the oem amp and an antenna adapter. I've even seen kits now for double din units so you could put in aftermarket nav.

Radio works fine just has no more light and cannot see the screen anymore. Since I have the 03 model unit with the cassette in back, looking into maybe getting a touch screen navigation with radio but don't know whats really out there.
