Confusing Dice Removal

I was pulling the Dice I Pod unit out of my 2001 with Nav/DSP, and putting a cd changer back in. Here is the problem.

The person who wired this in cut off the 3 pin connector and hard wired those three wires in to 3 wires that are in the loom with the 6 pin connector. They did not cut in to any of the wires in the 6 pin connector but there are three wires that looked to have been for another plug. I can not figure out what the three wires are for. They are grey, yellow and black.

I have already got a new 3 pin and plan on taking the brown, red/yellow, and white/yellow and soldering them together. I got the pin out from another site.

I plan on capping the three wires that are in the loom with the 6 pin plug which I will not be using and trying to run the cd player. Do you guys think this is going to fly? I was also going to double check which is power before doing so.

While I'm posting I'd might as well double check my current info for the pin out of the 3 prong.

1- nearest key way is brown which is ground
2- middle is red/yellow which is power
3- white/colored checker is I Bus

I also plan on using the Fiber Optic from the amp to the disk changer that came with the Dice unit which I'm hoping will work.

HERE IS AN UPDATE

I did exactly as I planned and still got nothing. None of the wires I mentioned above were 12v switched or constant. Really sucks. Guess I need an I pod.

So even with an I-Pod plugged in it won't charge and I can't control the Ipod through the CD mode of the head unit. I got an I phone to work but it did not charge. It did play unlike the I pod Classic.
