X5 2002, No eletricity, no power!

Hey guys its my first post here, and im buying an X5 and, the it havent been turned on in months, and a friend mine went there to try to start it up, but no lights no nothing. So e got a brand new battery and it didnt turned on either. He tested the battery on another and it worked fine. So its not battery. Do you guys have any ideia what could it be?

Now with the new battery, the car didn't turn over or the entire car was dead, i.e lights, chime, nothing worked?

Yeah not even a chime? Did you check all the fuses? wiring going from the battery?

Yes, no even a lil light came up. new abttery and new fuses. =\\ Im so looking foward to get this X5. It havent been used in a long time. I have one guess but not sure the name in english. =\ ill try to find out the name.

EDit: I guess there is no specific name so... my guess is the wiring. (i think its the only thing left...right? the baterry is fine, so are the fuses.)

Unless this car is such a great deal that its once in a lifetime, I'd try to find something else. If there is a new batt, and still nothing, there is a loss of power from the battery to the ECU. Only other thing is make sure the connections are clean. Also check under the hood and make sure nothing is loose. But seriously, this sounds like a major headache.Unless this X is a perfect 02 4.6is with little mileage and only $10k, I wouldnt touch it. Just my $.02

Yeah, thanks for the reply guys... but it actually is a great deal, here in brazil it cost @ 71,000 R$ (U$ 40,000) im gonna buy it for R$ 32,000 (U$18,000) Inspite of that, its in great condition.

Which model is it and how many miles are on this guy? For that price in that year, I am going to assume it is a low mileage 4.4 or 4.6is

well.. its not a low mileage its more for like.. an "okay" mileage.. if remember correctly its around 60.000.

Its a X5 2002 Sport 4.4liters. Black with black interior.

here BMW's R way too expensive. for 32.000R$ i cant buy any e46. (wich cost @ 43.000R$ 325i 2001)

I dont know man, really up to you. I personally wouldnt touch it unless it was $12k - $13k max. Now you are saying that this X should be listed for $40K, but you can get it for $18K, besides the X not starting, what else is wrong? I mean unless it was something seruous, I wouldn't discount any car that drastically. It almost sounds like this X was involved in a flood and everything is fried. Plus how long has it been sitting and when was the last time it was started?

Check the conditions of the batter terminal cables if they the connections deteriorate the connection to the battery can completely fail.
