Let's do a quick comparison..

Assume a 4.6is is for sale with same mileage ( it obviously still trumps your dinan 4.4i). I'd say it'd go for about 20-22? So I think your estimate of 18 is reasonable. I think you may need to settle for 17 though.

Let's see if others can chime in. Any pics??

I don't think it will trump my 4.4i because the 4.6is originally has 340-hp which is about the same with my dinanized 4.4i. But the 4.6is is definitely heavier then the 4.4i

With a 6.4-second run from 0 to 60 mph the X5 4.6is buys you 0.2 second more than you get with a stock 4.4i with 6.6-second run from 0 to 60.
In my case I've seen a couple of 4.6is staying behind

I wouldn't expect to get much for your Dinan 'investment' upon resale. For every person who gives those mods some value, there is another person who just sees a car that probably had a harder life, with a more aggressive driver. At the end of the day it is an 11 year old vehicle that isn't stock. Compare it to other 2001 4.4s, not 4.6 and 4.8 models, IMO.

I agree with JCL. I had a 2000 540 Touring with a Dinan S2 package and Stoptech brake kit installed. The investment was in the $6K-$7K range. When it sold, it went for the exact same price as a comparable non modified 540 Touring. Mods unfortunately do not increase the sales price. You've got a nice X5 that will sell quick for the going rate. Good luck.

And yes...have owned both, with & w/out Dinan. If they stayed behind, it's because they chose to.
