Spray Painting 20's

Anyone done this? Thinking Gunmetal... Any pics? Advice? How durable will the finish be? What paint and clear is best / reccomended? Is it possible to do while keeping the tires mounted on the rim just masking the tires? Wondering how the lip would turn out and if folks paint the inside of the rim? Was going to get powdercoat but now I'm unsure.

--Thanks!

I just had my 20" 168's painted in metallic black, they used dupont paint and dupont chromaclear - finish is great - they didnt remove the tyres, they just deflate them & break the bead.

There are some pics in my photo album on here but they are not close ups.
I have done some spray painting in my time but I didnt take this one on as I dont have the right gear anymore - for paint its simply enough coats until you get good cover, for clear its normally two coats or more. You need to ensure the paint & clear coat are compatible.
As for any spray job preparation is the key, I have done rims a few years ago and its not that easy especially if the rims have a lot of detail in them. Good luck but Id prefer to pay $400-$500 and have it done professionally these days.

The local shop will pcoat them "T028-GR02 Steel Gray Pearlescent 80% Gloss" for $400. I think I might just go that route...
