Nope, Just owners who kill them off early in life, due to lack of common maintenance and care. Thanks for keeping them alive one at a time.

Rolled over 100,000 miles yesterday, during the PIA migration trip north from our FL Winter house to our western NC Mtn home.

Shaky pic, as we were caught up in an 80+ mph NASCAR like bumper to bumper boogie up I-95, at the moment I snapped the shutter.

~900 miles in the past 2 days, and this ol' 2001 X runs like a top!

High rpms shown, mD, or is that normal for an auto - were you towing a load? Not towing, in sixth I track 2950 rpms or so at 75 mph. Love that stick shift and manual ZF? gearbox.....

I'm running 3000 RPM at 80mph with the automatic.

2002 X5 3.0 276,000 miles
2004 325i 119,000 miles (also runs 3000 RPM at 80 mph)

Riggodeaux, Our '01 is a 5 speed manual...pretty standard rpms for that speed.
Engine hasn't blinked in 100,000 miles.
