CAN I UPDATE SOFTWARE ON SAT NAV SYSTEM, 2006 E53 X5

Hiya all, I just wanted to know if there is any way i can update my software or firmware on my sat nav system. I have a 2006 x5 deisel sport

I have just upgraded the nav system on my 2005 X5. This is very easy to, using either genuine or eBay stuff, but beware:- 1) Never, Never, Never turn off the ignition while you are running the update; 2) Make sure your box can handle the version level, earlier boxes can't handle the v.32 level. 3) Better to purchase a map and firmware upgrade together - later maps won't run on earlier firmware. Not anywhere near as plug and play as they claim.

SO you burn the file you download to a cd and then put it in the nav dvd thing and just wait?? there are no real instructions.......
