license plate lights

Hi guys

Just wondering if anybody has changed their license plate lights with the whole housing instead of just changing the LEDs inside?

I'm thinking of something like these.. New LED license plate lamp products, buy New LED license plate lamp products from alibaba.com

It's cheaper and easier to just go with a quality LED bulb replacement. I have been using the BLESK festoon bulb in my 2005 e53 with stunning results and absolutely no errors for a couple years now (haven't had to replace them either). You can order them from HID Concept. Pre-facelift may show errors with these bulbs though.

Most people only replace the bulb on the E53 due to it being very easy. We offer LED replacement bulbs by Ziza which are very bright and provided clean white light.

ooh, so nobody have switched out the entire housing? I know in the E70s, they have the mtech license plate lights which is the whole housing and it is EXTREMELY bright.

@phil47, is it 12.99 for 1? so I'd need to order 2.. may I see some pictures of them on your car please?

@ECS, I looked at your bulbs but from the pictures they are too blue for my liking.

thanks

They are pure white in reality, our guys are going to be re shooting them shortly to show the true color of the bulbs.

I can attest the ECS lights look identical to the new 3 series license plate lights that come stock. Looks good.

They are 12.99 each so order 2. I actually ordered 4 in case I needed to replace one but they seem to last. Couple years now with no failure, flicker, color change, error codes, etc.

I will try and post a pic but the the photos on the website are VERY accurate. The photo with both installed on an S4 (which is the other vehicle I own and put these on) is dead on. This is a really crisp white light and NOT too bright as I don't like that either. I'm very pleased with them. They look like they came stock.

Do you know if these would fit on an E39 (97-03 5 series)?

Last time I checked, they didn't make whole housing LED license plate lights replacement.....

Just go with a 39mm festoon with canbus (error-free) chip. I bought 4 from fleebay and have been using the 2 original ones for over a year now. I still have the other two for back-up.
