Question DVD/GPS unit in boot/trunk ON or OFF ???

Hi all,
Been trying to find the cause of the "dreaded parasitic battery drain" for a couple of months now.
This evening I went to the boot/trunk of the 2003 X5 (opened it via remote key) and seen that the DVD/GPS unit`s power-LED is blinking/flashing which to me would suggest that power is being sent to the unit when there is no key in the ignition (also MID is switched off in car)
Should there be power to this unit if not in use? if not, it could be the problem to my battery drain? (and other BMW battery drains)

Does anyone know if there is a relay switch for this unit? if so, where exactly? dont want to be without satnav, defeats the purpose of having it if I need to disconnect the power from the unit.
battery is flat again
