Wink Gave my X5 a black eye...

There are other teaser pictures sprinkled somewhere around the forums. The headlight cover isn't sealed yet but just squeezed on.
Used Hella RS6 bi-xenon projectors with a ZKW-R clear lens. It is powered by Morimoto 3Five 35 watt D2S ballasts and Morimoto 4300K bulbs. A TRS Can-bus ensures that I get more low-beam error.
The high beam bowl is painted with VHT Nightshades. I didn't get the coating perfect but there are still reflective properties in the bowl so the high beam does work. However, the bi-xenon projector eliminates the need for a high beam at all so that is why I proceeded to tint the high beam bowl.

Finally something that makes me unique.

Very nice! I like the "facelifted" look you've done with the cornerlights. Can't wait for the installed pics!

These are originally Voltexmotoring headlights from eBay. Cracked them open and did all the retrofit work. The angel eyes light up yellow but a little white still leaks through on the edges - barely noticeable to me even. I'm leaving the DRL's on as all it does is open the high beam solenoid when on.

I just don't want to bake another light as that is that is the hardest part.

Edit: Here are some other pictures. One is of the cutoff @ 18ft so the color isn't perfect. One is of the AE's without enough coats of yellow tint. I installed the lights last night to pre-aim them and it aimed up perfectly with the OEM line - I just forgot pictures as it was cold but it is a huge improvement; the halogens barely had enough width to light up a 2 car garage, but the xenon projectors had amazing width. I also don't know why people love LED AE's. These CCFL's are plenty bright enough in the daytime! They are yellow and not OEM color but I am fine with the results.

Do you guys think I should just install the drivers side light while I'm still working on my passenger side?
It will truly be a "black" eye in that case.

One last thought before I seal the light. Should I keep the amber or just go clear?

Ricky Bobby will become famous soon enough
if you're changing the side markers on your fender to clear go all clear, otherwise keep a tinge of amber like on the headlight on the top
