E53 Android 6.0 Navi installation
Hello all,
after searching quite a lot the last days regarding how to do an update to my car I am making this thread for some questions before proceeding buying anything. So my car is an X5 4.4i model 2004 and I am located in Germany. So the car is EU Spec. It's equipped with the MK IV navigation unit, cd changer and DSP amplifier so in order to proceed installing something like that Android 6.0 DVD Octa Core GPS Für BMW E53 X5 E38 7er Autoradio DAB+ USB WIFI OBD | eBay I have first to remove the dsp amplifier. After reading really carefully this post https://xoutpost.com/bmw-sav-forums/...placement.html I understood that it's a one way solution to remove the factory dsp installation and replace it with an analog amplifier. Though before proceeding so such a big "digging" into car cables etc etc I want to ask the following questions. 1) Would be possible to just replace the dsp amplifier with that? BMW E53 HI-FI ALPINE RADIO STEREO APLIFIER UNIT 65.12-8379376 8379376 | eBay this is the simple amplifier which non-dsp models have. Are the connectors compatible with my car or not? Also are the 10 speakers which currently car has supported? 2) The supplier of the android unit suggested me to buy also that cable Quadlock Verlängerung 6M Lange Stecker Buchse Kabel Adapter für BMW E46 E39 E53 | eBay. to do the connection between the head-unit and the car (under the spare tire in the trunk). Assuming I won't use amplifier, that would be enough to use the amplifier that the head-unit has? I assume though it wouldn't be powerful at all with all those speakers. 3) Assuming that I will proceed replacing all DSP components and buy a 5ch amplifier, are there any analytical schematics rather than the ones in the post above which I can see what connectors do I need so I can "build" my own cables and just have everything plug and play without doing any cuts into the car's harness? If anyone recently installed one of those units to his X5 having a DSP please share your impressions/surprises to expect. Thank you in advance! |
