Remote door unlock causes the alarm to go off

Did a search but didn't come up with much. I use my key remote to open the door and the alarn goes off. It's been happening more lately and I'm wondering if anybody has had this happen? How did you fix it or did you just leave it alone?

This just started happening to me. I did a search and this is all that showed up. Has anyone cured this?

I have had this happen occasionally, almost regularly when I bought the car used 3 years ago (still under warranty.)

Took it to the dealer and they changed (under warranty) the alarm sensor for the hood and then the motion detector sensor and still happened.

Then my battery died on me and I ended up changing the battery to a brand new one, and all the alarm problems went away.

It didn't happen at all until a couple of months ago again, after the car was sitting for a while with battery not being charged.

I have a feeling that this is due to a weak battery. If your battery is 4+ years old, try changing it. It can't hurt (especially at the beginning of the winter as a preventative maintenance in your cold neck of the woods.)

I've had this happen many times over the past 18 months. I've changed the battery and hook it up to a trickle when the vehicle is not being used.... Still happens from time to time.

I was going to replace the battery. Cold winters around here and the battery is over 5 years old. I will have to see if this cuts down on the false alarms.
